Project Return Peer Support Network (PRPSN) is a pioneering mental health nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals through shared experience and peer connection. Established in 1980 as part of Mental Health America Los Angeles, PRPSN became California’s first peer-led mental health program, setting the standard for community-based support driven by understanding, empathy, and recovery. What makes PRPSN unique is that its staff are peers—individuals who have personally navigated mental health challenges and now use their lived experience to guide others on their own paths to wellness.

PRPSN’s mission is rooted in compassion and advocacy. By sharing real stories of recovery, they work to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and inspire hope in every person they serve. Their programs promote empowerment, self-awareness, and emotional resilience, helping participants take charge of their mental and emotional health.

Through education, community engagement, and ongoing peer support, PRPSN fosters an environment where healing and personal growth thrive. Many of their training and educational services focus on developing life skills, emotional regulation, and effective communication—skills that are essential for anger management and conflict resolution. By encouraging individuals to recognize triggers, express emotions constructively, and build supportive networks, PRPSN plays a vital role in helping people manage anger and other strong emotions in healthy, productive ways.

With a deep belief that recovery is possible for everyone, PRPSN continues to stand as a beacon of hope and transformation for the communities it serves.
