Indian Health Council (IHC) has been a trusted healthcare provider for Native communities in North County San Diego since 1970, offering a comprehensive approach to wellness that nurtures the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health of every individual. Guided by its mission to promote balance and well-being, IHC provides integrated care through four key departments—Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy—ensuring patients receive seamless, compassionate, and culturally informed services.
At the heart of IHC’s Behavioral Health Program is a dedication to emotional and mental wellness, including specialized anger management counseling. These services help individuals identify triggers, develop emotional regulation skills, and channel anger into healthy, constructive responses. Using evidence-based techniques and culturally sensitive approaches, IHC’s behavioral health professionals empower clients to achieve greater self-control, improve relationships, and enhance overall quality of life.
IHC’s work extends beyond traditional healthcare. Through programs focused on injury prevention, domestic violence awareness, and family support, the organization actively promotes safety, resilience, and community connection. Its Patient-Centered Medical and Dental Homes, accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), demonstrate IHC’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused services.
Funded as a California Native American Research Center for Health by the Indian Health Service and National Institutes of Health, IHC also contributes to health innovation and education.
