Ventura / Tri-County Teen Challenge, part of Teen Challenge of Southern California, offers a faith-based residential recovery and discipleship program for women seeking freedom from addiction, emotional pain, and destructive behaviors. Established in 1972, the Ventura center serves Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties, providing a structured 12-month program designed to help women rebuild their lives through spiritual growth, education, and community support. Located on a 143-acre property known as “Miracle Mountain,” the facility provides a safe and peaceful environment where participants can focus on personal transformation and healing.
The program emphasizes peer-to-peer mentoring, personal responsibility, and the development of coping skills to handle life’s challenges—such as anger management, relationship conflicts, and emotional regulation. Participants engage in daily chapel services, Bible studies, and work programs, and have the opportunity to complete their high school diploma or GED through the local school district. The initial three-month induction phase begins in Los Angeles or Kern County before residents transfer to Ventura for the remaining nine months of training and recovery.
In addition to residential care, Ventura Teen Challenge conducts community outreach programs in local schools and neighborhoods, educating youth on the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of positive decision-making. Guided by its core belief that no one is beyond the reach of transformation through faith, Teen Challenge continues to help women overcome addiction, build character, and discover renewed purpose in life through a supportive, Christ-centered approach.
