The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) is dedicated to transforming lives and building stronger, safer communities by supporting individuals as they reenter society after incarceration. Through a combination of mentorship, advocacy, education, and personal development, ARC empowers formerly incarcerated people to heal, grow, and thrive. The organization focuses on helping members address the underlying causes of past behaviors—such as unmanaged anger, trauma, and lack of support—through evidence-based self-help and anger management programs designed to promote emotional regulation, accountability, and resilience.
ARC’s approach is rooted in the belief that meaningful rehabilitation comes from self-awareness and community connection. Many of its members, including those highlighted in powerful impact stories, share journeys of transformation—moving from hopelessness and impulsive, angry reactions to purpose-driven lives focused on giving back. Members often participate in anger management workshops, peer mentoring, and life coaching that teach empathy, impulse control, and constructive communication skills, enabling them to replace destructive habits with positive coping tools.
Beyond personal development, ARC advocates for criminal justice reform and provides pathways to employment through initiatives like the Apprenticeship Readiness program. With thousands of incarcerated individuals in communication and numerous laws passed with ARC’s support, the organization continues to expand opportunities for second chances. By helping individuals break cycles of anger and recidivism, ARC not only transforms lives but strengthens entire communities across California.
