Survivor Resource Group supports domestic abuse survivors and their children as they navigate family court and custody evaluations, combining hands-on case support with systems-level education and advocacy. Their mission is to improve outcomes in court; their vision is to transform the policies and structures that prevent survivors and children from thriving after leaving abusive family systems. On the micro level, the team organizes evidence, drafts clear, credible narratives, and provides testimony and trial preparation coaching for survivors and their legal counsel—especially in cases involving coercive control, financial abuse, and litigation abuse. Services include Writing & Evidence Organization, Testimony Coaching, Custody Evaluation Coaching, Relocation Reports, and access to an Expert Witness Network, alongside education and policy work that equips family court professionals, law enforcement, and judicial officers to better recognize and respond to domestic abuse. On the macro level, Survivor Resource Group develops trainings for family court professionals and contributes thought leadership through recognized publications, helping close the knowledge gap that too often results in unsafe outcomes for children. They also participate in national conversations, including presenting on evidence organization and comparative court responses at the International Coercive Control Conference in New York. Survivor Resource Group’s integrated approach—wraparound support for individual cases and targeted training for the wider system—aims to reduce institutional barriers, elevate survivor voices, and promote child safety throughout the custody evaluation and court process.
