The Restorative Justice Institute of Atlanta, LLC (RJIA) is a leading organization dedicated to fostering healing, accountability, and community through restorative practices. Founded and directed by Janice Jerome—an award-winning practitioner, author, and certified member of the National Anger Management Association—RJIA bridges the gap between traditional justice systems and restorative approaches that focus on understanding and transformation rather than punishment. The institute offers individual and group services that include anger management counseling, restorative talking circles, and community-based programs that promote empathy, conflict resolution, and personal growth.
RJIA is also known for its engaging community events, such as the annual Camp Lucy Restorative Practitioners Retreat in Dripping Springs, Texas, which provides participants with “a space to breathe” while exploring restorative dialogue and mindfulness-based healing. Monthly virtual restorative talking circles offer additional opportunities for reflection, open communication, and emotional regulation—valuable tools for those working on managing anger or improving relationships.
Janice Jerome’s leadership has garnered national recognition, including awards and grants for her innovative work in restorative dialogue and diversity-focused programs. Her inclusion in “Colorizing Restorative Justice,” a Benjamin Franklin Award-winning book, underscores RJIA’s thought leadership in this field. Through its inclusive programs serving African American, Hispanic, Asian, LGBTQ+, and other communities, the Restorative Justice Institute of Atlanta continues to inspire meaningful change by helping individuals and groups learn to “say hard things in a good way.” Whether through anger management support or restorative community circles, RJIA empowers participants to rebuild trust, strengthen communication, and move toward genuine healing.
