Addiction and Behavioral Counseling Services, Inc. (ABCS) has been providing trusted, court-approved counseling and addiction treatment programs across Northwest Indiana since 1999. Serving communities in Lake County, Porter County, Crown Point, Merrillville, Hobart, and Valparaiso, ABCS helps individuals meet court mandates while supporting lasting personal recovery. Their licensed professionals specialize in a wide range of behavioral health services, including anger management, addiction counseling, and mental health treatment.

Anger management is one of ABCS’s cornerstone programs, offering an 8–12 week, court-approved course that focuses on improving decision-making, emotional regulation, empathy, and coping skills. Designed to meet legal requirements for anger-related offenses, this structured program helps participants gain insight into their behavior and build healthier responses to conflict. In addition to anger management, ABCS provides court-mandated therapy for substance abuse, battery intervention, OWI/DUI cases, and possession offenses.

Programs include Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), relapse prevention, group and individual counseling, and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Each treatment plan is customized to the client’s unique needs, whether they are court-referred, voluntarily seeking help, or dealing with co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety. ABCS also offers services in multiple languages—including English, Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, Macedonian, and Polish—ensuring accessibility for diverse communities.
