Since 1950, Union Rescue Mission Wichita has been a beacon of hope for men experiencing homelessness, addiction, poverty, and other life challenges. Rooted in Christian values, the mission is dedicated to transforming lives through a holistic approach that emphasizes rescue, recovery, restoration, and re-engagement. Each year, hundreds of men find refuge in a safe and supportive environment where they can begin their journey toward healing and stability. The Mission offers essential services such as nutritious meals, clean clothing, and warm shelter, along with Bible study, educational opportunities, job readiness programs, and minor medical care.

A key part of Union Rescue Mission’s success lies in its Life Change Programs, which focus on helping participants address the underlying causes of their struggles—often including anger management and emotional regulation. These programs teach practical coping skills and promote personal growth, empowering men to rebuild healthy relationships and re-enter society with renewed confidence and purpose. With the support of generous donors and dedicated volunteers, URM provides more than 70,000 meals and over 40,000 nights of shelter each year, serving more than a thousand men annually.

Union Rescue Mission is more than a homeless shelter—it’s a place of transformation where faith, compassion, and community come together to create lasting change. Through God’s love and the ongoing support of the Wichita community, lives once marked by despair are being restored with hope, purpose, and peace.
