Reconciliation Services is a Kansas City nonprofit organization dedicated to healing the community by addressing the root causes and symptoms of poverty and trauma. Guided by its mission of reconciliation, the organization works to restore dignity, foster healthy relationships, and empower individuals to advocate for themselves and their families. Its cornerstone initiative, REVEAL Social & Mental Health Services, provides essential case management and therapeutic support for those facing emotional, social, and economic challenges. Through individual and group therapy, trauma treatment, and specialized programs, REVEAL helps clients overcome anger, stress, and other behavioral struggles by building self-awareness, emotional regulation, and healthier coping skills.
Another key part of Reconciliation Services’ impact is Thelma’s Kitchen, a pay-it-forward community café where every meal directly supports mental health services, eviction prevention, and ID assistance for neighbors in need. The Foster Grandparent Program connects senior volunteers with local youth, offering mentorship and emotional support, while the Social Leader Program provides leadership training that addresses trauma, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace and community.
With thousands of hours of therapy and case management offered annually, Reconciliation Services transforms dividing lines into gathering places, creating opportunities for connection and healing. Whether through shared meals, anger management and trauma counseling, or volunteer engagement, the organization strengthens Kansas City by helping people rediscover resilience and purpose. Through compassion and community collaboration, Reconciliation Services continues to reveal the potential for lasting change in every individual and every neighborhood it touches.
