Women of Choices, Inc.

Women of Choices, Inc. is a nonprofit, community-based transitional housing and empowerment program dedicated to helping women in Wilson and surrounding counties of North Carolina rebuild their lives and move toward long-term stability. The organization serves women who are experiencing homelessness, including those impacted by prior involvement with the justice system, and focuses on providing practical tools, education, and supportive services that promote independence, self-sufficiency, and personal growth. Through a structured and compassionate approach, participants are supported as they work toward meaningful employment, entrepreneurship opportunities, and reunification with their children, while remaining crime free and independent of public assistance.

A core strength of the program is its comprehensive service model, which addresses the real-world challenges women face during recovery and transition. Services include in-house counseling, life coaching, parenting education, daily living skills, transportation assistance, and workforce readiness support such as résumé development and interview preparation. Health, nutrition, and financial literacy education further equip participants with essential skills for long-term success. Anger management classes are a key component of the program, helping women develop healthier coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, and constructive communication habits that support personal growth, family stability, and positive community engagement.

Women of Choices, Inc. is led by its founder and director, Tamala Fuller, whose professional background in public safety, education, human services, and substance abuse counseling informs the organization’s trauma-informed and empowerment-focused philosophy. Drawing from both professional expertise and lived experience, the program is designed to meet women where they are and guide them toward lasting change. Through its holistic services and strong emphasis on accountability and emotional wellness, Women of Choices, Inc. helps women get “back on track” and achieve sustainable growth and independence.
