The Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina (MCEC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering peace, understanding, and positive communication throughout Eastern North Carolina. Through a diverse range of programs, MCEC helps individuals and families develop essential life skills to prevent and resolve conflict in constructive ways. One of their cornerstone initiatives, Anger Management Skill Development, provides participants with practical tools to understand triggers, regulate emotions, and respond to challenging situations calmly and effectively. This program promotes personal growth, accountability, and emotional balance, empowering individuals to build healthier relationships and make better decisions.
In addition to anger management, MCEC offers an array of community-focused services such as mediation, juvenile justice programs, and mentoring opportunities. Programs like Building Peace in Schools, Parenting for Success, Teen Court, and Truancy Mediation address the root causes of conflict and support youth and families in developing respect, responsibility, and resilience. MCEC also provides educational initiatives including D.E.A.D (Drugs End All Dreams) and Girls Empowered/Man Up, which encourage young people to make positive life choices.
Through collaboration, outreach, and volunteer engagement, MCEC continues to strengthen communities by reducing violence, fostering empathy, and promoting peaceful solutions to everyday conflicts. Their mission extends beyond mediation—it’s about helping people gain lifelong skills to handle anger, stress, and disagreement with compassion and confidence.
