About BAY AREA COUNCIL ON DRUGS & ALCOHOL

The Bay Area Council on Drugs & Alcohol (BACODA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and communities in Brazoria, Galveston, Matagorda, Southeast Harris, and Wharton County, as well as the city of Pasadena, in preventing substance use disorders. Through a range of services encompassing education, prevention, intervention, and recovery, BACODA strives to address the complexities of substance abuse.

One of our key offerings is the Texas Drug Offender Education Program, approved by the State of Texas and designed to meet legal requirements for individuals convicted of misdemeanor or felony drug offenses. As mandated by Texas Transportation Code, completion of this program is necessary for license reinstatement for offenders facing a six-month suspension. The program consists of 15 hours of classroom instruction, aimed at increasing participants' awareness of drug abuse dangers, identifying personal drug use patterns, and developing action plans to mitigate future risks.

Covering a diverse array of topics including drug laws, drug dynamics, health implications, and interpersonal relationships, our curriculum provides comprehensive education and support. This program caters to individuals convicted of drug or controlled substance offenses, offering them an opportunity for personal growth and legal compliance.

At BACODA, our commitment extends beyond mere education – we are dedicated to empowering individuals to make positive changes in their lives and communities. With a nominal fee of $125, our Drug Offender Education Program offers accessible and effective support for those seeking to navigate the challenges of substance abuse convictions. Join us at BACODA and take the first step towards a brighter, drug-free future.
