About ALCOHOL AND TRAFFIC SAFETY INSTITUTE

Welcome to the Alcohol and Traffic Safety Institute, your resource for DWI education and prevention. If you've been convicted of a first offense DWI in Texas and received probation, you're required by law to attend and successfully complete an educational program certified by the department. Our standardized program, which is 12 hours in length, is specifically designed to help DWI offenders increase their knowledge about alcohol and drugs as they relate to driving skills. Through this program, participants will identify their own drinking/drug use and driving patterns and develop plans to reduce the probability of future DWI behavior.

Our curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including alcohol/drugs and traffic safety problems, Texas laws relating to DWI, the effects of alcohol/drugs on humans, chemical dependency, and decision-making. We understand the importance of completing the program within the specified timeframe. Failure to do so can result in the revocation of your license, which cannot be reinstated until the educational program is completed.

Classes are conveniently scheduled throughout the week, with options for both weekday and weekend sessions. During classroom sessions, we provide coffee, tea, water, and snacks to ensure your comfort and convenience. Registration is conducted on the first day of class, with sessions typically lasting from Thursday to Saturday or held on weekday evenings and mornings.

At the Alcohol and Traffic Safety Institute, we're committed to helping DWI offenders navigate the legal requirements and acquire the knowledge and skills needed to prevent future offenses. Join us and take the first step toward reclaiming your driving privileges and making safer choices on the road.
