About A COURT CLASS

A Court Class provides court-mandated substance abuse education programs at two DFW locations to help offenders comply with requirements and reach their goals. Their mission is quality education, prevention, and intervention to reduce recidivism and impacts of drug/alcohol abuse.

Programs include DWI-Obstruction Education for first offenders and DWI Intervention for repeat offenders, held weekday evenings. The director notes their dedication to criminal justice through knowledge building, reducing recidivism, family education, and community support.

With counseling, treatment, and intervention, A Court Class increases awareness and changes outcomes for clients mandated to complete substance abuse classes. Preregistration is required for the 8-week programs. By maintaining sensitivity and using cognitive/behavioral approaches, they aim to increase compliance and reduce the individual and societal impacts of substance abuse offenses.
