About ALCOHOL AWARENESS ASSOCIATES

Alcohol Awareness Associates offers state-approved Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) Education Classes primarily serving first-time offenders in Texas. With remote Zoom classes available statewide and in-person sessions in the greater Houston region, including locations in Kingwood, West Houston/Katy, Angleton, and The Woodlands, accessibility is prioritized. Mandated by the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, individuals convicted of a first offense DWI and placed on probation must complete an educational program certified by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the state of Texas authorized remote-taught classes; however, there are no self-taught online DWI Education Classes approved by the state. The standardized DWI Education Program spans 12 hours and aims to enhance offenders' understanding of alcohol and drug use concerning driving skills. Specific topics covered include alcohol/drug-related traffic safety issues, Texas DWI laws, effects of substances on human behavior, signs of dependency, and decision-making.

The DWI Class comprises three 4-hour sessions spread over three separate days, enabling participants to delve into the material thoroughly. By offering comprehensive education and guidance, Alcohol Awareness Associates strives to assist DWI offenders in developing strategies to prevent future incidents and make informed decisions regarding alcohol and drug use while driving.
